How do I get a quote?

Must I pay a deposit?

Yes, there is $2000.00 deposit required for most projects. This deposit can be applied to any part of your subsequent bill.

How far in advance do I need to book my job?

During the busier summer months, it is a good idea to book footing, foundation and floor jobs two weeks in advance. There is occasionally a longer waiting period for porches and patios which should be booked three to four weeks in advance in the summer.

How do I prepare my job site for a foundation?

Before Manotick Concrete can begin work on your foundation, your site must be excavated, surveyed (pinned for footings) and any site inspections required by the city must be complete. If you are unsure which city inspections are required for your site, they are usually outlined on your building permit.

Can Manotick Concrete do my excavation?

As a forming company we are not equipped to undertake excavation, the Yellow Pages will provide you with contact information for a number of excavation providers in your area.

What does pinning the footing mean?

The process where your surveyor will stake out the corners of the eventual foundation.

How long does it take to build a foundation?

A complete foundation including footings, stone, drainage tile, walls and damproofing takes around 10 business days. It is highly recommended that no subsequent trades be scheduled before 10 days to avoid conflicts.

What are the payment terms?

You will be billed for each stage of the foundation work (ie. walls, basement floor, garage floor and porch) after they are completed. Payment is due 14 days after completion. Accounts must be in good standing for next stage of work to begin.

Do you accept credit card payment?

We can only accept: cash or checks.

What is the 9% winter handling charge for?

The 9% winter handling charge which is applied between November 1st and April 15th covers the additional cost of concrete and labour in the winter months.
